A Program for Exploring Introductory Concepts in Engineering

CountyDam is a unique computer-aided design package that brings a real engineering problem into the classroom for hands-on problem solving. Students are challenged to apply their math and science skills to design a dam capable of holding back a 12-foot high wall of water. CountyDam teaches engineering feel through experimentation. The program incorporates a custom computer-aided design (CAD+) system with editing features that enhance the learning process. A friendly user interface combined with entertaining animation make CountyDam appropriate for grades 7-12.
